MAGNADRUM 2000 HIGH INTENSITY MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
|
|
|
'Coarse Particle Style Separator' supplied to an Iron Ore Mine in Greece. |
WHAT WILL IT DO?
Remove weakly magnetic particles from dry granular materials. Typical applications are:
The concentration of, Ilmenite; Iron, Manganese and Nickel ores.
Removal of, Pyrrohtite from Nickel-Copper ores.
Removal of, Chromite Garnet and Ilmenite from diamondiferous concentrates.
Removal of, Serpentine from Magnesite.
Selective separation of, Ilmenite - Garnet - Monazite.
Separation of, Chrome sand from Silica sand.
Recovery of, Ferrochrome and Ferromanganese from slags.
Size range from 100microns to 50mm..
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Material is fed from the hopper at a controlled rate, onto the rotating drum (The feed may be presented to the top of the drum or as a 'falling curtain' adjacent to the drum periphery.)
Magnetic particles are deflected; the non- magnetic particles follow their normal trajectory. Splitters divert the particles into the outlets.
WHAT DOES IT COMPRISE OF?
Hopper + feeder + stationary magnet assembly + drum + enclosure + geared motor + splitters + outlets.
- Feeder:
- 'Star-roll'; electromagnetic or electromechanical vibrator type.
- Drum:
- Diameter 450mm or 600mm, Length up to 1200mm
WHAT TYPE OF MAGNET ASSEMBLY IS USED?
The multi-pole axial type with magnets sand- wiched between steel plates (poles).
Magnets - Neodymium-Iron-Boron - with high coercivity (BHC)
WHAT IS THE MAGNETISING FIELD?
Approximately 10000 gauss is measured three millimetres away from the poles; using a standard 'Hall Effect' transverse probe.

WHAT ARE THE PLUS FEATURES?
|
WHAT FACTORS INFLUENCE THE PERFORMANCE?
Feed rate • drum speed • splitter position
The Magnadrum 2000 is supplied complete with an electrical control panel with facilities to vary the feed rate and drum speed.
Other 'rare earth' magnetic separators manufactured by MAGNAPOWER are - the roll type and the matrix wheel (wet) type.
