MAGNAROLL 2000 HIGH INTENSITY MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
with "rare earth" permanent magnets.
WHAT WILL IT DO?
Remove weakly magnetic particles from dry
granular materials. Typical applications are the
purification or concentration of:
Andalusite Apatite Bauxite Calcite
Corundum Diamondiferous concentrates
Dolomite Feldspar Fireclay Iron ores
Kyanite Limestone Manganese ores
Magnesite Mineral Sands Nepheline-Syenite
Quartz Silica Sand Sillimanite Spodumene
Tantalite Wollastonite.
Size range from 75 microns to 10mm. Special
version available for larger particles.
WHAT DOES IT COMPRISE OF?
Hopper + feeder + 'cassette' (belt, magnet roll
and idler pulley) + geared motor + wedge belt
drive + splitters + support frame + enclosure +
chutes + outlets.
- Feeder:
- Star-roll or Electromagnetic vibrator type.
- Roll:
- Diameter 100mm; Length 500, 1000 and 1500mm.
- Belt:
- Kevlar or PVC covered polyester fabric.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Material is fed from the hopper at a controlled
rate on the conveyor.
As the belt travels around the roll, magnetic
particles are influenced by competing
centrifugal and magnetic forces. They are
thrown from the belt, at a position on the roll
where the centrifugal force overcomes the
magnetic forces.
Non-magnetic partic es are thrown from the
belt on their normal trajectory.
The particles are diverted by the splitter onto
the chutes or outlets.
The chutes can be arranged for 'non-magnetics' or 'magnetics' retreatment.
WHAT IS THE MAGNET MATERIAL?
Neodymium-Iron-Boron with high Coercivity
(Coercivity BHC is equivalent to the ampere turns per metre of an electromagnet.)
Standard grade for operating temperature up to
120°C, BHC ˜ 12000 Oersteds.
High temperature grade for operating temperature
up to 180°C, BHC ˜ 10800 Oersteds.
WHAT ARE THE PLUS FEATURES?
Compact modular construction.
Modules easily added or removed.
Enclosure with dust extraction port.
Easy access to all working parts.
'Cassette style' belt conveyor.
Automatic belt tensioning and tracking.
Quick belt change, without tools.
Simple and easily replaceable chutes.
WHAT FACTORS INFLUENCE THE PERFORMANCE?
Magnet: Steel ratio • Belt speed • Feed rate
• Splitter position.
Optimisation is possible by testing on 'bench-
top' version.
The Magnaroll 2000 is supplied complete with
an electrical control panel with facilities to vary
the feed rate and belt speed.
WHAT IS THE MAGNETISING FIELD STRENGTH?
Depends on the Magnet : Steel ratio. Typically
10000 gauss (with very high field gradient) is
measured on the steel discs using a standard
'Hall Effect' transverse probe.
Other 'rare earth' magnetic separators manufactured by MAGNAPOWER
are the - rotary drum type (wet and dry) and the matrix wheel (wet) type.
