Urethane Coated Clamping Magnets

A manufacturer of underground mining equipment needed holding and clamping magnets to hold structural components, such as roof bolt plates, in position while the mining operation is in progress. They had to be strong magnetically and withstand continual impact with metal plates. Space was limited where the system is fitted in the roof drilling machine so the magnets must be small. The solution was these urethane coated magnets.

The magnetic polarity is critical in this application so the poles are colour-coded. Red for North and Green for South. The magnets are held secure by bolts hence the threaded holes in the base of the assembly.
